READER Comment:
Just finished ME & YOU
& A TRUCK NAMED BLUE last night and I have to tell
you it is the best trucking story that I've ever read! I like that it
deals in the everyday lives of truckers. I just wish the books were a lot
longer. Looking forward to the sequel.

Me and You and a Truck Named
Blue explores the real life of a truck
driver and her partner, and is a major departure from the usual ways truck
drivers are portrayed in the media. “I watched some truck driving movies
while I was researching this book,” said Robin Stears. “Truckers are
either shown as do-gooders traveling around the country righting injustice
everywhere, or maniacs who terrorize hapless motorists. Neither of those
is true—truck drivers are simply hard-working people who are trying to
make a living.”
The second book in the series, Jake Breaks, coming
in 2006, will be followed by Rocky Road.
With over three million truck drivers in the United
States—and about a fifth of them women—Me and You and a Truck Named
Blue has a ready-made fan base.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved trucks.
Jennifer “Jake” O’Malley, a stubborn, tough talking,
junk-food junkie is forced to share her rig with Eddie Malone, a
happy-go-lucky, soft-spoken, health fanatic, in order to get the job of
her dreams. As their journey begins, they have one thing in common:
their love of the road.
As their journey continues, they realize they have another
thing in common: their desire to beat the living daylights out of one
another, or else love each other until the end of time. When their lives
take a wrong turn, Jake has to decide which she loves more—Eddie or the
highway.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Robin (née Courtney) Stears lives less
than five miles from her childhood home in Ohio with her husband and two
daughters. She is a crossword puzzle constructor, Girl Scout troop leader
and media coordinator, summer day camp director, game inventor, party
planner, and a novelist.
Robin’s interests range from holistic
healing to science fiction, and from philosophy to karaoke. She’s been
writing and telling stories since she was old enough to write, and has
published such varied media as newspaper articles, short stories,
technical manuals and poetry. Me and You and a Truck Named Blue is
her second novel; The Nexus, a paranormal romance, is her first
novel.
Me and You and a Truck Named Blue
took her nearly a year to write and was inspired by the many truck
drivers in her family. “My brothers, my sister, most of my cousins, and
my dad were all truck drivers,” said Robin Stears. “I take after my
mom.”

Climb aboard, sit down, buckle
your seat belt--you're about to take a ride in "Lady Blue" with Jake.
She's a no-nonsense, doesn't take crap from anyone, angel of a truck
drivin' lady.
